The original representation of chromosomes in the cellular component ontology. Black and blue arrows point from parent to child; blue arrows denote "part of" and black arrow "subtype" relationships. Red arrows show the path from one node, "mitotic chromosome," upwards by all possible paths. Note that in this scheme, "mitotic chromosome" leads back to "nucleus," which is biologically accurate for fungi but not for other eukaryotes.
