Note that in this scheme, "chitin biosynthesis" leads back to both "cell wall biosynthesis" and "cuticle synthesis."

Please note the following replacement terms:

'Cell wall biosynthesis (sensu fungi)' is now cell wall biosynthesis.
'Cuticle biosynthesis' is now cuticle synthesis.
