GO Curator and Bioinformatics Positions at Rat Genome Database.

The Rat Genome Database (RGD) at the Bioinformatics Research Center, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, seeks two people to work on GO. A GO curator will be primarily responsible for continuing the integration of Gene Ontology in RGD and participate in the development of this and other standardized vocabularies for phenotype and disease. A bioinformatics person will create the software necessary to implement GO.
Applicants for the curation position should have a Ph.D. or an M.S. with experience, be familiar with GO, have experience in molecular biology or mammalian systems, and be versed in genetics, genomics, and cellular or developmental biology. Applicants for the bioinformatics position should have a M.S in mathematics, computer science, or biological sciences with strong computer background. Both positions require excellent oral and written English skills.

Scientific Curator position at DictyBase.

We seek a biologist interested in joining DictyBase as a scientific curator. This position involves integrating the Dictyostelium scientific literature with genome sequence, including annotation using GO. This is position requires a combination of biological expertise with a genetic model organism, as well a high level of comfort with computers and an interest in bioinformatics.
