Introduction

At the GO meeting in Cambridge, Sept. 2002, we decided to divide up work based on areas of interest/expertise. To facilitate this arrangement, we'll set up "interest groups" for any areas within the ontologies that are likely to require extensive additions or revisions, or to have proposed changes crop up frequently. Proposed changes relevant to an interest group should be handled (or at least seen) by that group.

Participation in an interest group is voluntary, and curators can join or leave groups as they please. To help keep this list up to date, please email: Midori Harris to join or leave an existing group, or to set up a new group.

When you send mail to one of the interest groups please address it to go@genome.stanford.edu and put the name of the interest group, followed by a hyphen, in the subject line of the mail. This will ensure that the interest group discussions are archived, and that they are able to be searched or sorted according to the name of the interest group. A mail window with the appropriate subject line will be generated automatically if you click on the heading of the interest group that you wish to address.

Note: These interest groups are organized by topics that roughly correspond to GO terms, usually high-level terms that might appear in GO Slim sets. Organism-specific ("sensu") terms are not listed because it would be redundant with model organism database affiliations, but "sensu" terms should be treated in an analogous manner to interest group topics: the relevant MOD curators should be consulted.
