Molecular Function Ontology

When adding terms to the Molecular Function ontology, remember that functions are indivisible and should not be split into parts. Ensure also that if you are giving a term multiple parents, you are not confusing a function with a gene product. For example, a laminin receptor has both receptor activity and cell adhesion activity, but in the function ontology, laminin receptor activity only exists under the parent receptor activity because the term is only describing the function of combining with laminin. If you see a term that does have multiple parents, you can make a new Sourceforge entry and suggest the term is changed so it has only one parent.
