Dear Colleague:

We are writing to let you know that TransPAC, the international network
connection between the United States National Science Foundation's Very High
Speed Backbone Service (vBNS) and the Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN)
is now operational at 70 Mbps.  Funding and support for this network come
from the United States' National Science Foundation, Japan's Science and
Technology Agency, APAN, and Indiana University.  Additional information
about TransPAC is available at http://www.transpac.org.
